10th Fail Poses as Police Inspector

Churu, Rajasthan: A young woman named Anju Sharma, who failed the 10th standard thrice, was recently arrested in Churu, Rajasthan, on charges of fraud totaling ₹13 lakh. For three years, Anju posed as a Sub-Inspector in the Delhi Police, adopting an official police uniform and lifestyle to support her deceitful persona. Driven by a desire for a luxurious life, she convinced those around her—including family and acquaintances—that she was genuinely employed with the Delhi Police. This belief was widely accepted due to her convincing behavior and police attire.

Anju capitalized on this false image by running a fraudulent job placement scheme, promising high-paying police jobs to several victims in exchange for substantial bribes. This scam not only funded her lavish lifestyle but also earned her enough respect to facilitate her recent marriage to a man from Haryana, who was under the impression that she was an active police officer. According to reports, her husband, too, believed her claims, and the couple enjoyed a luxurious life until her arrest exposed her actions.

Anju’s ability to maintain her false identity for three years highlights how people in positions of apparent authority can easily manipulate unsuspecting individuals, making them vulnerable to financial exploitation. Her arrest has shed light on the growing need for stringent identity verifications and public awareness regarding fraudulent activities, especially related to job placements in prestigious fields like the police force. The authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to employment promises or uniformed impostors.

Current Status: Anju Sharma is currently in police custody, facing charges of fraud. Authorities are investigating further to determine the full extent of her actions and identify any additional victims who may have been misled.
