Fighter Jet Crashes Near Agra

Agra: An Indian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet crashed into a field near Uttar Pradesh’s Agra on Monday. The pilot, however, ejected safely before the aircraft went down and burst into flames, defence officials confirmed.

The aircraft, which had taken off from Adampur in Punjab, was en route to Agra for a training exercise when the incident occurred. Visuals from the crash site showed plumes of smoke billowing from the wreckage, drawing a crowd of onlookers.

A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash.

This is not an isolated incident. On September 2, another MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in Barmer, Rajasthan, due to a technical malfunction. Fortunately, the pilot in that instance also ejected safely. The aircraft crashed into an unpopulated field and caught fire.
